It can be hard to forge an online personality when you have a very common name.  I have learned to be quick off the mark and attempt to stake a claim to steveharris, stevenharris, sharris, or steveh on any new technology service there is the slightest possibility I might take advantage of in the future.  

When I decided to start this blog, I tried every rendition of “my name.com”, and nothing I liked was available.  For a while I toyed with creating a fake name, or using some rendition of my middle name and initials, but neither approach really fits with my personality.  Then, on a whim, I tried “theothersteveharris.com” and it was still open.  So, welcome to “The Other Steve Harris’ Blog”.

I created this space as a home for my coments on technology, new media, programming, web design, podcasting, and various other thoughts, related or otherwise.  I also have a separate project called Toronto Daily Photo, which is a (often less than “daily”) photo blog of pictures in and around the Toronto area.
